\n \nThis is an invitation to join a Play Australia monthly re flective practice meeting by playworkers and for p layworkers in Australia.
\n \nWe’d like to keep the Playworker training delivered by Play Aus tralia alongside Play Wales going\, by offering ou r qualified playworkers an online space to aather\ , connect and talk about all things playwork.
\ n \nGabe Smith\, from the Ven ny\, has offered to facilitate these sessions on b ehalf of Play Australia.
\n \nThere will be no set agenda\, and anyone is in vited to bring triumphs and challenges they are ex periencing in their playwork provision. The idea i s that all playworkers\, new and more experienced can get together to reflect outside of their norma l team environment. This might lead to reconnectio ns\, new connections\, new ideas and we’re open to all of it!
\n \nIt is planned that the ses sions will run on the last Friday of the month\, b y zoom\, and will be from 12.30pm till 1. 30pm\, so grab your lunch and join in. Pr e registration to be part of the group is the firs t stage to ensure security\, however after that yo u are a member and just click the link and come al ong.
\n \nOur first meeting will co mmence on Friday 31 July\, 2026.
\n \nThereafter\, 28 August\, 25 September\, 30 Oct ober\, 27 November. Break for Summer.. resume 29 J anuary 2027.
\n \nThis is a space for prac tising playworkers: those currently working direct ly with children or young people and using the pl aywork methodology. It is not a space for consul tants or trainers in playwork\, and no information supplied can be used as case studies in playwork training delivery. Each participant is expected to be able to share and comment on their daily pract ice\, so together we can develop an environment fo r rich personal reflection and sharing on our prac tice.

\n \nThis Reflective practice gr oup is a gentle\, kind\, and inclusive online spac e where we hope you can find information and peer guidance\, support\, or basic kinship. developed u sing some general principles we have adopted from the UK equivalent:

We also recognise people have a diverse range of needs. We are patient of loss of focus\, losing track of your question or response\ , and we understand you might get caught up in you r emotions.\n We encourage people to use the “rai se hand” and chat features during our virtual meet ings. But\, we also understand that you might wish to unmute and chip-in at will. We’ll keep an eye on all these interactions\, but please don’t get o ffended if we mute you or ask that you allow someo ne else to speak first.\n We know that some peopl e may wish to be heard but not seen. You are welco me to keep your camera off. We ask that you direct message the Facilitators of the meeting to introd uce yourself\, and inform them of your communicati on preferences – this is so we can be confident of who is in the room and to maintain the security o f the meeting\, as far as is practicable.\n We re cord our meetings. These recordings will not be us ed for any purpose other than to safeguard ourselv es. If we wish to use any recordings – for any pur pose – we will contact all participants before usi ng them.
