He has been involved in the playground industry for the past 21 years. Prior to establishing Play Check, Andrew was involved in the playground manufacturing industry where he was General Manager of Forpark Australia. During that time he was heavily involved in the design, development and manufacture of playground equipment. Since 2002 Andrew has represented the Australian Industry Group on the Standards Australia playground committee CS-005. During that time he has been involved in drafting the last two playground equipment standards, including the present AS 4685 series. In 2014 he chaired the technical sub-committee tasked with drafting a revision of the Standard AS/NZS 4486:1997 (dealing with the development, installation, inspection, maintenance and operation of playground equipment) which is currently out for public comment. This combination of manufacturing experience and an intimate understanding of the Standards means that Play Check is not only able to highlight issues with equipment designs and installations, but can also assist in arriving at solutions.
