Dear ,Information for all members concerning Covid19 and the management and maintenance of playgroundsGreetings to you all. I sincerely hope that you, your friends, family and work colleagues are as well as they can be given these difficult times. You will shortly receive our first e-News which will update you on current information and advice concerning today’s reality.in dealing with Covid19. This message will be brief and to the point, given the many requests we have received today from councils requesting advice about the maintenance and/or closure of the community’s access to play equipment at this time. The questions are focussing on the need or otherwise to clean play equipment, and if so, what this should involve, and also whether or not to close off playgrounds to the general public. We are currently seeking advice on these questions from the health experts given that the overseas information to date recommends not to take children to playgrounds at this time. We will do our best to provide information on these issues based on the health experts advice, as soon as we can. We will also continue to see if there is any evidence to show that these kind of interventions would be useful in preventing the spread of the virus, and/or are sustainable for the longer term, so until then, I suggest that you continue with your usual practices in maintaining play equipment and playgrounds in general. However, we understand that information is being updated on a daily basis and we will keep you informed should anything change. Best Wishes Barb Champion Executive Director - Play Australia |
