Play Spaces Seminar and Site Tours
The seminar will be held over three days and will comprise a combination of presentations, case studies and panel discussions on Day 1, followed by two days of site visits to a diverse range of play spaces and youth precincts, with each stop featuring an onsite presentation and an opportunity for delegates to walk around sites and to observe users at play.
Delegates can register for all three days or for any combination of individual days.
Social and networking opportunities will be a feature each day, including an informal cocktail function concluding proceedings on Day 1.
There are many highlights of this Seminar, including:
- a presentation by leading play space designer, Ric McConaghy, on the latest trends in playground design, placement, setting and function,
- a presentation about the role of play workers during a visit to The Venny, a communal backyard and play space for children aged 5 - 16 years located in Kensington- a playground with a difference,
- a visit to the Ian Potter Foundation Children's Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens - a magical place where children can dig, build, imagine, create, and hide, and
much, much more ……..
This exceptional professional development opportunity has been organised by the PLA Vic/Tas Region in association with Play Australia, and with input from the New Zealand Recreation Association, which will be sending a delegation of over 12 recreation and open space professionals to the seminar.
