Well, what another year it's been! As we sign off from another challenging year, we look back on 2021 and realise that through all of the pandemic complications, we have achieved some wonderful things with you all. We have also welcomed many new Members to our network and we are just delighted to have you on board! Our commitment to provide up-to-date information on issues that support our membership remains a key communication priority for us. As does having access to ongoing professional development to assist you in your day-to-day work and service delivery. To this end our Online Learning Series, which was launched in 2021, was a great success. Bringing professional development to your desk, no matter where you are, has been a bonus for all members. The 2022 series is going to be even better! Look out for details in January. We have been proud to launch our Risk Assessors Network and this important work will be an industry focus for us in 2022. It was great to nationally launch 1000 Play Streets and provide a terrific free Tool Kit for all Local Governments to reconnect with their local communities. this project will continue to grow nationally in 2022. Tasmania launched its Play Australia Network this year and we are now getting closer to a branch in every state and territory in Australia. Look out N.T. and ACT, we are heading your way! The Playground Finder App redevelopment has been completed and looking at bigger and better things in 2022. So much more to come in the New Year! In February we are launching a brand new Early Years Online Learning Series, specifically created to support early years educators in their incredibly important roles educating our young children. Watch your inbox in January for info on this exciting new PD program. So, as we farewell this sometimes trying year, we do wish all of our valuable Members, a VERY Merry Christmas. We look forward to supporting you all even more in 2022, to promote the value of play and supporting all Australians to play every day. Warmest regards, Barb Champion, Executive Director and the Board and staff of Play Australia. |
