The National Sports and Physical Literacy Convention 2021 is gearing up for 9 -11 November 2021. Play Australia is pleased to participate as a key partner this year. 

We're proud to be working with the NSC team to bring play into the conversation, so we can build the physical literacy of our children and help more Australians move more, through play.

Play Australia celebrates news this month that the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing is funding "Game On for 1000 Play Streets".

In 2021-22 we will be partnering with Centre for Sport and Social Impact at Latrobe University, Campbelltown City Council, City of Charles Sturt, City of Port Adelaide Enfield, City of Onkaparinga and LGAs across SA, to get more people moving through Play Streets.

Plants are of particular concern, as there is evidence of lower appreciation, knowledge and concern for plants compared with animals. Various writers have noted the negative implications of these trends for human health and well-being, environmental action, and conservation."

Our next 2 Day PD is scheduled for 11 & 12 August.  If you design or manage play spaces, this is a must attend program.

If wearing a more sports orientated uniform to school encouraged increased physical activity for children, what would you prefer your child to wear?  We'd say wear the sports uniform! 

Academics from Newcastle University are recommending a more appropriate uniform that allows for improved movement and physical activity. Their research has identified that students and parents would also prefer a less formal uniform and that kids say they would be more active if they wore a sports uniform everyday. 

 "Active students do better in class, having better concentration, attention and classroom behaviours..."
