Pedagogical and Ludic Documentation

A workshop for early childhood educators
How can we improve our understanding of children's actions and identify what support children need in order for them to participate more fully in educator-led activities, as well as in autonomous play?
Join Suzanne Axelsson for a deep dive exploration of pedagogical and ludic observation and documentation. You will learn how these can be used to reflect on and analyse children's play and learning, how to evaluate children's interactions with resources and others AND consider the why, what and how of play, learning and teaching, so as to understand our adult pedagogical identity and the impact we have on children.
Suzanne’s approach, known as “The Original Learning Approach”, is a dynamic process that allows educators to adapt and evolve with the children. It is firmly rooted in play, and joy is one of the essential threads; joy, is defined as the trinity of love, equity and well-being.
Original Learning is a holistic approach that involves physical, cognitive, emotional, social and spiritual development and is sensitively connected to culture and context.
By being play responsive we strive to ensure that learning is intrinsically motivated to create play AND learning flow. This means observing the play in order to understand how to teach.
This is a live webinar and will not be recorded.
We ask that only early chldhood educators register for this 3 hour workshop as it is important to reach our target audience and ensure all activities can be fully engaged with by the workshop participants. More general sessions will follow in early 2025. Thank you for your understanding.
