Playce is pleased to announce that our inkind cubby GLOWB which we collaborated with Agency of Sculpture has just won "Australia’s Best Cubby" and "Best Interior Designed Cubby", and has raised a record $26,000 as part of the of Kids Under Cover Cubbyhouse Challenge at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show on March 30th.This year’s expert judging panel included Peter Maddison, architect and host of Grand Designs Australia; Alice Stolz, National Managing Editor of Domain; Architect Joe Snell; Dr Justin Coulson, parenting expert and author; interior designer Fiona Lynch; and Lucy Feagins, Editor of The Design Files.Judge Lucy Feagins said that she was incredibly impressed by the investment of time,creativity and thought that had gone into designing spaces that would best facilitate creative play for children.“This year we had a range of incredible designs, all created for the most fantastic and worthy cause. The designers met the challenge of creating the ultimate kids’ cubby house, whileshowcasing the very best of Australian design, architecture and styling,” Ms Feagins said.Both Playce and Agency of Sculpture enjoyed the opportunity to create a playful, active, inclusive and fun space whilst also giving up our time to help assist Kids Under Cover raise important funds for Youth homelessness.The successful purchaser was Maroondah City Council who are now putting the cubby in a public art and play space so generations of kids can enjoy the cubby moving forward.We see this as a great opportunity for other councils to commit to creating a custom sculptural play element whilst helping at risk youth.
